Jeroen Van Nieuwenhove is a Belgian Icelandic nature photographer based in Reykjavík, Iceland. He focuses on landscape, wildlife and aerial & drone photography He is internationally recognised for his powerful imagery of volcanic eruptions and the country’s wild, remote landscapes.
Since 2021, Jeroen has focused on photographing the Icelandic Highlands and documenting active volcanic eruptions, including the Fagradalsfjall and Sundhnúksgígar events. Fulfilling a childhood dream, he has now captured 12 volcanic eruptions, building a rare visual record of Iceland’s dynamic geology. His photography reveals the raw power and surreal beauty of Earth in motion. A fully licensed photography guide, Jeroen leads immersive photography workshops and private tours in Iceland and Greenland, offering rare access to volcanic sites, glacial landscapes, and highland wilderness. His tours emphasise safety, sustainability, and personal guidance. His work has received international awards and has been featured in National Geographic, BBC, and other major media. He is the author of photographic book, ‘New Earth’ and a mentor to photographers working in extreme environments.
